Saint Louis University (SLU) is a private Catholic university that was founded in 1911 by the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (CICM), a missionary group from Belgium. It is the oldest and largest university in the Cordillera region and one of the top universities in the Philippines.

Sundot Kulangot or Baguio Kalamay - a type of Kalamay is made up of coconut milk, brown sugar and glutinous rice treat from Baguio City, Philippines. It is also known as Sundot Kulangot (literally 'Picked Snot') for its consistency. It is sweetened with molasses. It is uniquely packed into halved pitogo (Sago Palm) shells and sealed with red crepe paper. It is the smallest known traditional packaging of Kalamay. They are sold in bundles, several of these kalamay balls are nestled inside split bamboo and tied with a string.

Hanging coffins are one of the funerary practices among the Kankanaey people of Sagada, Mountain Province, in the island Luzon of the Philippines. They have not been studied by archaeologists, so the exact age of the coffins is unknown, though they are believed to be centuries old.

The reason for hanging the coffins is based on the belief that the higher the dead were placed, the greater chance of their spirits reaching a higher nature in the afterlife. This is also implied by Marco Polo's brief observation of the Bo rituals, saying that "when deceased [they] had their bodies put in a box and taken to the mountains to be put in caves, or hung out where others can not reach."
